FKF Premier League Week 12 review

FKF Premier League Week 12 review

By Austin Oduor Otieno,

The Football Kenya Federation run FKF Premier League will enter match day 12 in the weekend of 16th and 17th May 2015 in various venues across Kenya.

On Saturday a total of 5 matches will be played while the remaining 4 matches will be played on Sunday.

FC Talanta   vs. Nakumatt

The match between bottoms placed FC Talanta who started the league on a good note against first rising Nakumatt FC will be the highlight of the day. The match will be played at the Safaricom Kasarani Stadium .FC Talanta lost 2-1 last week to West Kenya Sugar and would want to redeem themselves and avoid a similar fete this weekend. They will however pray their top scorer Bernard Ongoma who has 5 goals so far will find his scoring prowess.Nakumatt on the other hand would want to continue with their fine run after handing table toppers Posta Rangers a defeat last week. They will rely on Kennedy Odinga and Tyrone Owuor upfront for goals.

Kakamega Homeboyz vs. Nairobi Stima

Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega will be a battle field on Saturday May 16th when second placed Kakamega Homeboyz entertain Kenya Power side Nairobi Stima at a ground that the Cleopas Shimanyula boys haven’t lost this season.

Homeboyz will rely on the league’s top scorer Keiphas Baraza who has scored 8 goals and Stima should be wary of the lethal striker. Nairobi Stima who was held to a 1-1 draw last week would want to improve on that.

Agro Chemicals vs St.Josephs

Muhoroni based Agro Chemicals travel to the lakeside City of Kisumu to seek a date with visiting St.Josephs of Nakuru .The food and Chemical processing company owned Club are going into the match with mixed fortunes after being awarded their abandoned match against Zoo Kericho which was aborted in the 88th minute after fan trouble. They were fined for failing to provide enough security. This is coming at a time when they need to improve on their form at home having lost 0-1 to Nakumatt.St. Josephs who are placed 9th in the log with 13 points are not pushovers either and are wary of the threat the host will cause with their top marksman Oscar Oketch.

Ligi Ndogo vs West Kenya Sugar.

West Kenya Sugar, formerly Kabrass United travel to the capital to meet Nairobi based Liger Ndogo at the Ruaraka Stadium in Nairobi.Ligi Ndogo are placed 10th in the log while their opponents West Kenya Sugar are 6th in the log.A win for West Kenya Sugar will see them go above Nzoia United who have a game on Sunday.Ligi Ndogo will however be very happy after grabbing a point from Western last week at Nzoia and will want to get maximum points to move to the 8th position just below Gusii based side Shabana. They will hope their inform striker Kenneth Maritimo will be fit ahead of the encounter.

MOSCA vs   Modern Coast Rangers.

Mombasa based Modern Coast Rangers formerly Magongo Rangers will travel to Nairobi to face Government sponsored side MOSCA at the Safaricom Kasarani Stadium in a double header match.MOSCA placed 15th in the 18 team league will have have to improve on their 1-1 draw over the weekend and are hoping to collect a weakened Modern Coast Rangers who have failed to get maximum points at home in two consecutive matches.
