The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Committee has banned Former Ghana FA President Kwesi Nyantakyi who doubled up as CAF 1ST Vice President for Life.

The ban means Mr.Nyantakyi has been barred from all football related activities (administrative,sports and any other) at both national and international level.

In a media release by FIFA the adjudicatory chamber found Mr.Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art.19 (conflicts of interest), art.21(bribery and corruption) and art.22 (commission)of the FIFA code of Ethics, 2012 edition.

“As a consequence, Mr.Nyantakyi is banned for life from all football-related activities and in addition a fine in the amount of CHF 500,000 has been imposed on Mr.Nyantakyi.

The decision was notified to Mr.Nyantakyi today(Tuesday) and the ban comes in force immediately.

Earlier the The chairperson of the adjudicatory chamber of the Ethics Committee has provisionally banned the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) and FIFA Council member, Mr Kwesi Nyantakyi, for a duration of 90 days. The duration of  ban was then extended for an additional period of  45 days.
