Former Gor Mahia captain Musa Mohammed has terminated his contract with Albanian side KF Tirana and is expected back in Kenya Wednesday next week.

Musa, 26, penned two and a half-year-deal with Tirana in January this year for his first professional stint away from the Kenyan giants.

With him was another K’Ogalo player Kenneth Muguna, a midfielder, who was handed a four-year-contract by the East Europe second division outfit.

The two were proposed to the club by former Gor Mahia Brazilian coach Ze Mahia who had abruptly ditched the club for Tirana earlier.

According to Ze Maria, who talked exclusively talked to Soka25east, Musa failed to adapt to life in Europe.

“The player never adapted to life in Europe and from the first day he had difficulties with food, climate, training intensity and many other things.

“And another big problem which I believe is a culture problem is that he always talked about money; that too from day one.

“Another problem was the longing that he said he felt about his family.

“So I think those were the factors that led the two parties to rescind the contract. This is the whole story,” Ze Maria said.

Both Muguna and Musa have not been paid their March salary, according to a source who sought anonymity.

The two have also not featured in the club’s last four matches, with Muguna out with an injury

Ze Maria, however, is optimistic that Muguna can still make it professionally in Europe.

“He’s still here and I’m going to try to help him grow in his career. He is still young and so has time to change his mindset and make a major career in his life as a football player.”

Sokaeast is still trying to get hold of Musa Mohammed to get his side of the story.
