Kelechi Iheanacho scored an 83rd-minute penalty as Nigeria salvaged a 1-1 draw in their friendly against Senegal in London.

Watched by just over 2,000 fans at The Hive, the Manchester City striker stepped up to cancel out Moussa Sow’s 56th-minute opener for Senegal.

Arsenal striker Alex Iwobi started the match for Nigeria while Liverpool’s Sadio Mane also made an appearance for Senegal as a second-half substitute.

Everton’s Idrissa Geye impressed in the midfield for Senegal, while Leicester City duo Ahmed Musa and Wilfred Ndidi were also in action.

Iheanacho’s late penalty absolved some of the blame for two big misses which will not have done his changes of landing a regular spot in the Manchester City side much good.
