The Panthers came from a goal down to beat the Falcons of Jediane 2-1 in an international friendly match staged at the Khartoum Stadium on Friday evening.

With Gabon hosting the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations, the group I clash served as mere preparation for Jorge Costa’s troops, with the Ivory Coast and Sierra Leone set to do battle in Bouaké on Saturday.

The hosts opened the scoring through Nazar Hamed in the 25th minute; a looping header from a set-piece getting the better of the Gabonese goalkeeper.

Gabon, though, hit straight back through Borussia Dortmund hitman Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang – the Panthers captain beating his marker before providing a composed finish to level matters on 33 minutes.

The visitors hit the front through Bruno Ecuele Manga four minutes before the break, the Cardiff City defender heading in from close range after the Sudanese shot-stopper failed in his attempt to punch the ball from a corner.-kick.

The score remained as is for the rest of the match. Next up for Gabon is a friendly clash against Cameroon in Limbe on Tuesday.
