Ghana National U-20 team failed to qualify for the 2017 Africa Youth Championship despite their 1-0 win over Senegal on Friday night.

The Black Stallites failed to overrun a 3-1 deficit in a one sided match against Senegal at the Cape Coast Stadium in Ghana.

The Black Satellites who were overwhelmed completely by a well drilled Young Lions in Dakar two weeks ago tried to push for goals but the Senegal defence stood firm.

Its only in the 31st minute when Black Stallites managed to score a fantastic goal courtesy a defensive blunder from the Senegalese.

Mamadou Diarra was shielding a back pass for his goalkeeper Lamine Sarr but Jonas Osabutey forcefully managed to get a touch which made the ball come off the leg of Sarr.

The ball then fell to path of Charles Boateng who intelligently chipped the ball into the net.

Black Stallites are the former FIFA U-20 World Cup Champions and African Youth Champions , they have also been a three-time African Champion in 1995, 1999, 2009 and a two-time Runner-up at the FIFA World Youth Championship in 1993, 2001 and finished third in 2013.

Ghana has participated in six of the past 19 World Cup events making them one of best sides in youth football in Africa.
