The Black Starlets of Ghana will battle with the Golden Eaglets of Nigeria in the final of the U-17 WAFU Zone B tournament.

Ten-man Ghana battled back to beat the young Elephants of Cote d’voire 2-1 in the first semi-final tie played at the Stade General Seyni Kountche Niamey on Wednesday afternoon.

Nigeria also defeated host Niger by the same score in the second semi-final game played at the same venue.

Ghana got their campaign with a 0-0 draw against Niger before beating Togo 2-1 in the next game to make it to the last four while Nigeria began with a 2-3 defeat to Burkina Faso before thrashing Cote d’voire 5-1 to advance to the semis.

The final will be staged at the – 35,000 seater Stade General Seyni Kountche, Niamey on Saturday September 15 at 7:30PM.

The winner secure an automatic qualification to the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

The Biennial International Youth Football championship is billed for May 12-26th in Dares-Salam, Tanzania.

The new format adopted by the continent football governing body – Confederation of African Football (CAF) is to increase participation at the level of teams in the qualifiers and enhanced expose and competitiveness by getting all involved.
