Gor Mahia head coach Dylan Kerr has said that Liverpool will be sending a scout to watch their friendly against Everton today (Tuesday).

Everton beat Brighton and Hove Albion 3-1 on Saturday afternoon to make it four wins in the last five Premier league games under Marco Silva, and now look ahead to next weekend’s trip to Chelsea.

However, Everton are also in action today, as they have a friendly scheduled against Gor Mahia at Goodison Park, with the SportPesa Trophy up for grabs.

The game was supposed to take place over the summer but had to be rescheduled, and will take place on Tuesday in a low-key affair.

Gor Mahia are the Kenyan champions, and have won the Kenyan Premier League in five of their last six attempts, leading the way in Kenyan football.

Everton went out to play over in Kenya against Gor Mahia in 2017, and now they meet again at Goodison Park in a game that will seemingly attract scouts.

Rangers, Leeds United and Birmingham City are just some of the clubs named as attended the game for scouting purposes – and Everton’s rivals Liverpool will also be attendance, with Gor Mahia boss confirming Liverpool scout Barry Hunter will be at the game.

“Liverpool Chief scout Barry Hunter has just confirmed right now that he will grace the match on Tuesday,” said Kerr, ahead of a game that will put Kenyan talents at the forefront, with Everton’s first-team players surely unlikely to feature.
