News in  indicate that Gor Mahia players are on a go slow and have threatened not  to take part in the KPL  clash against Sony on Friday. The players  have all left their hotel rooms heading to the bus station back to Nairobi.

The players have accused the management of the club for holding onto their sportpesa super cup match winning allowances which they say the company had paid to the club.

According to eye witnesses, the players who were in Kisumu were spotted with their baggage heading to the bus station and despite efforts by Team Manager Jolawi Obondo to calm the situation,they opted to leave the hotel premises

“We have not been paid our allowances since our sportpesa super cup truimph and even match winning allowances, how do they expect us to survive? The TM is just telling us that the Chairman is away in Russia!” one of the players told soka25east .

This incidence happened just a day after the league leaders and defending champions humiliated Posta Rangers 5-0 in a rescheduled KPL match at the Moi Stadium and are set to take on Miller’s Sony Sugar on Friday before leaving for Dar es salaam for the CECAFA fixtures

According to a Gor  Mahia official ,the players Sportpesa super cup bounuses ,salaries  were paid and the only pending payment was three accrued match winning allowances

 

 

In other related news, Tanzania League Champions Simba have stated that efforts to sign Francis Kahata is still alive and that they hope to bring the Kenyan international to Msimbazi soon.

Kahata has been under Simba’s radar and the talks have been kept secret just like the Kagere issue.
