Gor Mahia sign goalie Opiyo, midfielder Konfor

Kenyan Premier League side Gor Mahia have announced the signing of goalkeeper Levis Opiyo and Cameroon Midfielder Bertrand Konfor.

Opiyo and Konfor are the latest addition to the Gor Mahia squad as they continue to bolster their squad in preparation of the upcoming season.

The goalkeeper who joins from City Stars and has previously played for Thika United, Western Stima, Posta Rangers and German club Fortuna Babelsburg, signed a two year contract.

At the same time, the current Kenya Premier League Champions have added the Cameroon defensive midfielder Konfor on a two year deal.

In Cameroon, Konfor has played for Rainbow FC of Bamenda, Union Sportif of Douala, Yong Sports Academy of Bamenda, National Polytechnic and Racing Club of Bafoussam.

In the last three years he’s played football in the Middle East, particularly in Oman where he represented Ahli Sidab club, Jalan Club and Al Mudhabi – his last club before landing in Nairobi.

Konfor hopes to have a successful spell with the club at all levels.

“It feels good to join Gor Mahia knowing it’s one of the best clubs in Africa. I am here to help the club win titles both locally and internationally and I believe with the help of my team-mates and technical staff, we will do it.” He told the clubs’ website.

On Sunday, K’Ogalo announced the arrivals of midfielder Sydney Ochieng from Western Stima on a four-year deal and defensive player Andrew Juma from Mathare United.
