Kenyan premier league defending champions and league leaders Gor  Mahia may withdraw from the CECAFA Kagame club championships that is set to begin on Friday 30th

 

Speaking to club members on the official whatsapp group ,Club President Ambrose Rachier has instructed his deputy John Pesa to write to CECAFA Secretary General Nicholas Musonye about their plans to withdraw from the tournament

 

This comes just hours after  majority of the players who camped in Kisumu for Friday’s premier league clash with Sony boycotted  training and decided to travel back to Nairobi claiming they haven’t been paid match winning allowances

In a four point statement to the members, the Chairman also asked  the Treasurer  to pay all the June salaries for the players with instructions  to  the players to report back to Kisumu for the next league match .Those who will have not reported will be suspended  and  expelled and new players recruited.

 

Disquiet  and uncertainty   has  engulfed the playing unit with a number of players expressing willingness to leave the club with suitors courting several of the players

 

Simba, Yanga  ,Nkana and Singida United are some of the teams that are eyeing the players who have been impressive so far in the season.

 

Gor  were scheduled to play against Rayon Sports on Sunday but this may not take place

 

Gor  Mahia are in the Group stage of the CAF Confederations  cup together with USM Alger of Algeria, Yanga of Tanzania and Rayon Sports to Rwanda
