Harambee Starlets Make Light Work of Beijing Raiders as They Intensify Preps Ahead of Turkey Trip

By Agnes Amondi,

Harambee Starlets warmed up to the Turkish Women’s Cup with a thumping 6-0 victory over Chapa Dimba na Safaricom Nairobi region champions Beijing Raiders, on Friday at the Camp Toyoyo grounds.

Teenage sensation Jentrix Shikangwa was once again at her finest as she bagged a brace. Her fellow striking partner Mwanahalima ‘Dogo’ Adam added a third to give Starlets a 3-0 lead at the break.

Debutants Diana Hashina, Stella Anyango, and Miriam Lutomia scored a goal each in the other side of the half to take the tally to 6-0.
After the win, Starlets head coach David Ouma looked ahead to other friendly matches they have lined up.

We will have a mini tournament at Ongata Rongai where we will  look at our players’ ability to compete as they are already equipped with skills to play,” said Ouma.

Meanwhile, Captain Dorcas Shikobe revealed that morale was high in the camp as they prepare for the invitational tourney.

The team is very motivated. We are looking forward to having positive results in the Turkish Women Cup,” she said. The final squad of 21 players will be named before the team jets out to Turkey on March 2 when the competition kicks off.
