All ears and eyes of Kenyans will be glued on TVs and Radios as Harambee Stars face Tanzania in a must-win encounter at Kenyatta Stadium this afternoon if they are to entertain any hopes of lifting the 2017 Cecafa Senior Challenge Cup.

Harambee Stars are second in Group A and they have to maintain that position for them to qualify as the group runners up or proceed if they end the group stages as the group winners.

The table toppers of the two groups will qualify for the semi-finals together with the best runner up. Harambee Stars coach, Paul Put says all is not lost on the task at hand and is aware only a win will give them joy in match against southern neighbors.

Speaking after the draw against Zanzibar on Saturday, Put said they are still in line to achieve their objective following their 0-0 draw against Islanders.

“We are in second position, we need to win this game to qualify. We shall be under pressure but if we play with the kind of organization we’ve had previously, I hope goals can come. We’ve built a solid team right from the back and it’s a matter of handling pressure against Tanzania,” said Put.

On his side, Kilimanajaro Stars counterpart Ammy Ninje who is guiding an already eliminated side has warned that his boys will be going for maximum points.

“Every game for us is like a Cup final. We have already lost in two finals and we are left with one. So, we will give our all against Kenya,” said Ninje in an interview with Standard.

“We don’t want to go back with a point. So, that’s the message to Kenyan,”he added.

Harambee Stars win against Tanzania, will see them qualify for the last four irrespective of the result from the other match.
