Gor Mahia opened a 15-point gap at the top of the  Kenyan SportPesa Premier League table with a well deserved 3-0 win over Kariobangi Sharks FC on Wednesday 1st August at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu.

Sharks found themselves trailing in the 25th minute as captain Geoffrey Shiveka headed into his own net as he tried t to clear a Francis Kahata cross. Kevin Ade Omondi made immediate impact after he was introduced in the 76th minute, connecting to a Lawrence Juma precise pass to slot in past young Sharks custodian Brian Bwire.

Lawrence Juma finished the job five minutes to stoppage time with a clever finish from an Innocent Wafula cross. Gor are now 15 points clear on top of the log; 55 points from 21 matches while second placed Sofapaka have 40 points having played 24 matches.
