Hosts Kenya are through to Sunday’s final of the CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup after edging Burundi Swallows 1-0 at Kisumu Stadium Thursday evening.

AFC Leopards’ attacking midfielder Whyvonne Isuza was the hero – scoring the lone goal in the 97th minute of extra time after a barren normal time action.

The Swallows will pinch themselves for failing to score despite dominating the entire game.

Former Sofapaka striker Fiston Razak was particularly a thorn in the flesh of the Harambee Stars defense marshaled by Jockins Atudo and skipper Musa Mohammed but he could not find a way through.

For the fifth game of the tournament the Stars backline remained unbeaten.

Kenya who last bagged the regional tournament in 2013 in Nairobi will know their Sunday opponents after the last semis match pitting record holders and defending champions Uganda against surprise package Zanzibar in Kisumu Friday.
