Jacques Tuyisenge ready to bring his Gor Mahia’s great form to Rwanda as they face Senegal in friendly

Amavubi and Gor Mahia striker Jacques Tuyisenge has promised to impress ahead of a friendly game against Senegal on Saturday and a crucial 2017 AFCON qualifier against Mozambique on June 4 at Amahoro National Stadium.

Amavubi will face Senegal in an international friendly scheduled on May 28 before hosting Mozambique in 2017 AFCON qualifier.

Alio Cisse’s team (Senegal) landed in the country on Sunday night for their 10-day stay in Rwanda. The team is expected to hold training sessions at Kigali Regional Stadium.

Senegal is on the brink of qualification as they sit comfortably at the summit of Group K with 12 points, six more than closest contenders, Burundi.

Tuyisenge believes he will do better in Amavubi after missing two games against Mauritius due to knee injury.

In the first leg Rwanda lost 1-0 before Rwanda turned tables and humiliated Mauritius in second leg 5-0. The 24-year-old will join the camp after Wednesday’s league game against Sofapaka.

“I am happy that I score goals but I have to continue working hard to reach to the next level. It is good when you score but it is challenge also to keep that spirit. I am happy to be back in Amavubi and I will do all I can to help my country,” Tuyisenge said .

Amavubi are second in Group H with six points same points as Mauritius, but Rwanda has better goal difference behind leaders Ghana while Mozambique are bottom with one point.

Tuyisenge helped reigning Champions Gor Mahia outclass Mathare United as he scored in the 2-0 win on Sunday at Nyayo National Stadium in Kenya.

Godfrey Walusimbi scored the first goal in the 68th minute before Tuyisenge netted the second goal in the 83rd minute to move Gor Mahia to second place with 26 points; two behind leaders Tusker FC.

Tuyisenge and his teammate, left-back Abouba Sibomana have been summoned to join Rwanda national team later this week after their league matches.

Rwanda kicked off preparations on Monday ahead of the 2017Afcon qualifier against Mozambique due on June 4 in Kigali.
