Kenyan international Jesse Jackson Were has been drafted into the CAF Champions League round five best eleven.

The Zesco United’s lethal finisher hit a brace against mighty Egypt in their penultimate group “A” match on Friday in a 2-2 draw in Alexandria.

“Team Yaziko” as Zesco is fondly referred to are through to maiden semis where they will most probably face fellow Southern Africans and group “B” leaders Mamelodi Sundowns or Zamalek SC if they beat leaders Wydad Casablanca in their last game and top the group.

Were’s teammates midfielder Jackson Ching’andu and defender Adama Ben Banh have also made the list of outstanding performers.

Wydad Casablanca of Morocco dominates the list with four players including Fabrice Ondama who scored the winner in their 2-1 triumph over Ivory Coast’s Asec Mimosas.

Egyptian Cup holders Zamalek have three among them; goalkeeper Ahmed El-Shenawy who was superb against Enyimba International on Monday, Bassem Morsi who broke the deadlock from the spot in their 2-0 win against the Nigerians.
