Jimmy Ndhlovu’s 86th minute strike proved enough as Power Dynamos narrowly beat Napsa Stars.

The pensioners went close in the early minutes of the game when U20 National team midfield genius Enock Computer Mwepu got on the end of a beautiful ball to force a finger tip save from Allan Chibwe. Napsa Stars where on fire as Chitiya Mususu missed with the goal in his sight in the 24th minute after a beautiful ball from Twiza Chaibela.

Power started to look more lively and Kelvin Mubanga Kampamba forced a save from Rabson Mucheleng’anga with a great chipped shot to keep the score line intact. The game went to the break with the scoreline still nil nil.

Dan Kabwe introduced former Nkana striker Jimmy Ndhlovu at the start of the second half. Napsa Stars again in the second half started well with Chitiya Mususu setting up Chaibela after some beautiful interchange of passes, Chaibela’s shot was saved by Chibwe before Mususu hit the rebound wide.
Napsa continued piling pressure with Enock Mwepu shooting wide while substitute Aaron Kabwe put his effort miles above the cross bar.

After a fantastic afternoon Mucheleng’anga finally conceded when a Godfrey Ngwenya cross found Kelvin Mubanga who set up Jimmy Ndhlovu for the games only goal in the 86th minute.

Napsa Stars coach Tenant Chilumba was  pleased with his teams overall performance despite losing to his former team.

“We lost concentration in the last 10 minutes, But am happy with the overall performance. We put up a good performance. It is a youth team so we just need to continue pushing the boys,” he said

Power Dynamos head coach Dan Kabwe described the match as a tough one and that experience played a big part in Saturday’s encounter

“The game was tough but we used our experience and thats what counts. Every game we learn some lessons, so we have to work on the weaknesses and make use of our strengths,” said Kabwe.
