Kabaso relishing Morocco Challenge

Chipolopolo skipper Kabaso Chongo says the team will be in a better shape on Sunday for the international friendly match against Herve Renard’s Morocco at Grand Stade de Marrakech.

Speaking to FAZ Football after the morning workout at the Grand Stade de Marrakech annex pitch, Chongo said the 2-1 loss against Cameroon in Madrid had come as a result of the team just regrouping and having to shake off some jetlag.

He said that the players had now settled in their environs and would be well oiled to face Africa Cup of Nations headed Atlas Lions.

“We are training well, the guys are all happy. We are looking forward to Sunday’s game against Morocco,” Chongo said.
He also said Gambia’s 1-0 win over Morocco on Wednesday had given the Chipolopolo insight on how to triumph over the Atlas Lions.

The Chipolopolo boys were in the stands on Wednesday as Gambia silenced Morocco on home soil in a friendly match.
Zambia will give Morocco their final send-off on Sunday before the North Africans’ home fans.

The Chipolopolo boys are in Morocco on a three-leg international trip that has seen them play Cameroon in Madrid and take on Morocco on Sunday before heading to Dubai where they will battle with the Elephants of Ivory Coast on June 19.

FAZ secured three high profile international friendly matches for the Chipolopolo on the strength of the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
