Savio Kabugo scored Uganda Cranes’lone goal the last time the East African powerhouse took on Ghana’s Black Stars in 2014,in a match they went into as the underdogs.

The Cranes play away to Ghana in the 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Friday October 7,2016.

Although they will start as rank outsiders, Kabugo believes they have all what to cause an upset again.

“We were under dogs way back and now we are a big side because we have made it to the nations cup which haven’t played for the last 39 years so we are no longer under dogs and I strongly believe the boys will make it on Friday, I just wish them the best of luck.” he said in an exclusive interview with soka25east.com

With two international goals already to his name, Kabugo who missed out on a call up to face Sparrows Hawks of Togo on Tuesday and the upcoming match against Black Stars is doing all it takes to get back into the Cranes set up which he last featured for in November 2014.

He has since shacken off a long term injury that kept him in the cold and he believes with his current fitness levels and God, he will get back there.

“I am in great shape and giving my all, I am working so hard and playing each and every match that comes my way for my club Proline FC so I believe I will get back there because it’s all about working hard and believing in yourself.”

Uganda takes on Ghana tomorrow at Tamale stadium in their first FIFA world cup group qualifiers match at 1830hrs EAT.
