KABWE YOUTH SOCCER ACADEMY EARLY FAVOURITE FOR PROMOTION

KABWE YOUTH SOCCER ACADEMY 1-0 INTERSPORT

With zones closing week 11, there are indications that KABWE based side (Youth Academy) could be the sole favourite as at week 11 to be hoping they can make it to the super league at the end of the season. They lead Zone three with 11 points of course with one more game played than the chasing pack but their results already show they are up and running for this one.

Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy has benefited only one walk over and even without that they would still be top with 8 points clear. That shows the preparedness of this team this far.

Played 12 , won 9 , drew 1 and lost 1 have 29 points and followed by Tazara Express on 18 points . They have scored 14 goals and conceded 4, the lowest in the zone.

Even with this success , the proprietor of the Club Mr Muntangama is refusing to get carried away with the lead and he is not talking about super league.

“For us the most important is the next game, of course we know the objective is to win promotion but is a long way to go hence we are concentrating more on the next game,” said Mr Muntangama in a telephone interview with Bwezani.

In week 11 in a Kabwe Local Derby against Intersport , the team grinded another home win to beat Intersport who were second to a 1-0 victory and that opened the 11 points gap.

Assistant Coach of Intersport Kennedy Wamulume Mataa in an interview with Bwezani also puts KYSA as favourite for promotion after the derby win.

“They are the favourite and they have good players and good executive, everything is going good for them at the moment and teams will have to be strong to compete with them. About the game it was an interesting game and congratulations to them.”

Mr Muntangama on the game

“It was a tough game, typical of a local derby. The boys remained focused and played according to instruction. The gap between Kabwe Youth and the chasing pack may be widening but that won’t get to our heads. We remain focused on the next game against Tazara Express.”

Kabwe Youth Soccer Academy are off in week 12 after getting a win away in Nakonde against Northedge is a rescheduled game. They get back to the field at home against Tazara Express in week 13.

As of is they look set to represent the Zone in this years Barclay’s Cup which they also did in the 2016 season.
