KCCA skipper Awany hopes to lead team to CAF Confed Quarter-finals

By Dehinbo Timothy,

Ahead of tomorrow’s CAFCC, First round second leg fixture between KCCA FC and Mtibwa Sugar Sports club, KCCA’s defender and skipper, Timothy Awany, has said his target as the captain of the team is to lead them to the Quarter Finals of the competition at least.

Speaking to Soka25east.com correspondent, Timothy Dehinbo on Friday morning in a pre match chat, the defender spoke on the first leg tie against the Tanzanian team and what he hopes to achieve for the competition this season.

For the past game, last weekend in Kampala, he said:

“It’s feels good when it’s comes to winning, and the 3-0 win was a vital one for us. They were a good and strong side,  but we stayed calm, even though we missed alot of chances in the first half”

When asked how he would feel when his team, Kampala Capital City Authority, KCCA Fc finally makes the group stages, Awany said;

“Well, that brings more confidence in us and it’s going to ba a great step. Last year, we were in the CAF champions league group stages and this year we are looking to go even further in this knock out stages, whether the quarter final or semi final.”

Awany who has been the captain of the team for quite a while now said finally that he’s got a target for this season in the competition.

“Yes, I have a target as the team’s captain, which is to reach the quarter finals or go further, ut my main target is to lead the team out of the group when we make it, because it’s always one step at a time first.”

All said and done, it’s looking like there has to be some sort of Miraculous deeds by Mtibwa Sports club for KCCA Fc not to make the group stages of the competition, as they took hold of the advantage in Kampala with a commanding 3-0 victory.
