Kenya U-20 national team suffered a heavy defeat going down 3-1 to their South Africa counterparts in an exciting international friendly match played on Saturday, 26 November 2016 at the Tsakane Stadium in Brakpan,South Africa.
Kenya went into the game a jet- lagged side having managed to arrive in South Africa at midnight.
Amajita failed to make use of a good opening as they dominated the proceedings with Given Msimango and Itumeleng Shopang culpable of a number of misses while Kenya targeted attacks on the counter.
The hosts took the lead in the 28th minute through a well taken penalty by Tercius Malepe after Shopang was fouled in the box.
South Africa held on to the advantage going into the break as Kenya were desperately looking for an equalizer.
On resumption, Kenya threatened on the 54th minute with Amos Nondi finding David Ambuku well placed in the box but Kabelo Seriba reacted fast to smother the danger.
From the clearance, Kenya started a counter attack and in the 76th minute, Baraka Edage and Musa Masika the key men, finding Francis Kinyua who from a tight angle rifled a shot past Amajita keeper Senale Tshabalala for an equalizer.
It seemed the match was heading for a stalmate but in 87th minute Ndwandwe pounced a beatiful header to restore the Amajita lead.
The Kenya players looked shocked after the goal losing concentration when it was needed most and three minutes later they had to pay the price when second half subsitute Lehlohonolo Radebe,with an easy tap made it 3-1 in a well attended match at Tsakane Stadium.
