Kenya climbed up six places, while Uganda dropped seven steps in latest FIFA ranking for the month of September, released on Thursday, October 20.

Uganda, AFCON 2017 qualifiers remain the top ranked team in the East Africa region at 72nd despite the drop, followed by Kenya, now at position 85th.

During the month, Uganda beat lowly ranked Comoros 1-0 to return to the AFCON since 1978; Kenya drew 1-1 away to Zambia in the same qualifiers.
Rwanda (107) and Ethiopia (126) have not moved an inch in the global roll.

Sudan have suffered the biggest drop – moving down 13 places to 204th, followed by Tanzania (-12) to 144th and Burundi (-9) to 138th.

Tanzania lost 1-0 to Nigeria; Rwanda picked a 1-1 draw away to Ghana, in the AFCON qualifiers, in September.

Ivory Coast (31), Senegal (32), Algeria (35), Tunisia (38) and Ghana (45) are the top five ranked teams in Africa in that order.

Argentina, Germany, Brazil, Belgium and Colombia are the best ranked teams in the world in the same order.
