Kenyan Premier League ROUND 25 PREVIEW

As the KPL 2014 season nears conclusion, temperatures have been at an all-time high as the race for the title intensifies and the fight for survival among lowly ranked sides steps up. A number of exciting matches have been lined up for this weekend.

Friday 19th September

The Ruaraka Stadium will host a double header. Sony Sugar will look to build on their first leg 2-0 win and collect maximum points away from home when they face KRA in a match set to kick-off at 1400hrs.Bottom placed Nairobi City Stars will hope to turn around their fortunes and ease their relegation woes by beating Tusker who are third on the log. A win for Tusker will keep their title hopes alive and move them within sight of league glory.

Saturday 20th September

League leaders Gor Mahia will look to consolidate their lead on top of the standings when they host fourth placed Chemelil Sugar at the City Stadium.KCB will hope to capitalize on the recent poor form of AFC Leopards and chalk up a win that will steer them off the relegation zone. The match will be staged at the Mumias Stadium. In Mombasa, Bandari will bank on home advantage to dispatch an on-form Western Stima side who beat AFC Leopards last weekend.

Sunday 21st September

Relegation candidates Top Fry All Stars will hope that bragging rights will motivate them to collect three valuable points in the Nakuru derby against Ulinzi at the Afraha Stadium. Second placed Sofapaka have their work cut out against visiting Maharani Youth as they look to reclaim the KPL title that they last won in 2009.Coach Sam Timbe will hope that the return to their home ground Machakos Stadium will inspire them to a win. A middle table clash pitting hosts Thika United who are in fifth position against eighth placed Mathare United will conclude this weekend`s action.

Friday: KRA vs Sony Sugar (Ruaraka 1400hrs), Tusker vs Nairobi City Stars (Ruaraka 1615hrs)

Saturday: Gor Mahia vs Chemelil Sugar(City Stadium), AFC Leopards vs KCB(Mumias), Bandari vs Western Stima(Mbaraki)

Sunday: Ulinzi Stars vs Top Fry All Stars (Afraha 1400hrs), Sofapaka vs Muhoroni Youth (Machakos Stadium), Thika United vs Mathare United (Thika Stadium)

All matches start at 1500hrs unless otherwise stated.
