Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech to sue the Star newspaper for defamation

Kenyan striker Dennis Oliech has intimated that he will be seeking legal redress after a local Kenyan newspaper The Star wrote damaging article on its Thursday pull out.

Oliech speaking to Soka25east.com alluded to the fact that he had remained silent for a long time while some tabloids and newspapers defamed his name without seeking to get the correct version from him.

On Tuesday the Star newspapers in a screaming  headline titled “Oliech from rags to riches and back to gutters” wrote that the player who has played most of his career in France is currently poor after selling most of his investments an issue that the striker did not take lightly forcing him to issue a statement.

OFFICIAL DENNIS OLIECH: Statement on allegations made in the Star Newspaper:

In addition to the statement my manager has given below let me tell my fans i have taken up the matter with my lawyers about some newspapers trying to continuously discredit my name with false stories to try and injure my reputation that i have worked so hard to build over the many years i have played for Kenya.

We will be suing the Star Newpaper for defamation as they did not even bother to call and get the right information from myself instead they chose to slunder my name inorder to make sales while trying to injure my reputation.

Where on earth is a footballer expected to reveal to a newspaper how much investments he has made and how much money he has in his account?

I have been very patient all along but we have to call a spade a spade to stop such unscrupulous people hell bent in destroying careers with false stories.

Thanks to all my fans for sticking by me even as some journalists try so hard to paint me in bad light to satisfy their egos.Lets meet in court

Regards

Dennis Oliech
