Gor Mahia manager Dylan Kerr has made it known he is going for a sixth straight Kenyan Premier League win in the Mashemeji Derby at Nyayo Stadium Sunday.

K’Ogalo have enjoyed a rich vein of form – winning five of their last five outings since the arrival of the Malta-born manger in July to replace Ze Maria.

It is the enviable run, which has seen the 2015 Champions consolidate lead at the top of the KPL standings, that Kerr wants to maintain when they clash with AFC Leopards in the Kenya’s biggest club rivalry.

“I want to live the dream of winning six games,” Kerr told Soka25east.

He added that it won’t be a walk in the park to attain the feat and he expects a “tough” game.

Kerr is alive to the fans expectorations and he is giving the match the all the attention like any other.

“Like every game, we take this one very seriously,”

“Every game for Gor Mahia is massive,” the former Simba SC coach added.

Gor have enjoyed a bumper run against their bitter rivals since last year second leg in which they registered a 2-0 win.

In the initial stanza this year, Gor carried home a sweet 3-0 win before pulling a similar triumph away in Tanzania in the Sportpesa Super Cup final.

Despite another below average run in the league thus far, the last two matches for Leopards have revived the hopes their fan-base.

After booking a semi-final spot in the GOTV Shield with a 7-0 thrashing of National Super League outfit Wazito FC, they followed it up with a spirited 1-0 win over defending KPL Champions Tusker FC yesterday.

Buoyed by the humongous win over Tusker, a team they seldom beat, Ingwe openly made it clear they were going for Gor’s scalp Sunday.

“We move on to the next patient,” Leopards declared on Twitter.

Head to head

The Sunday meet will be the 82nd in the KPL for the oldest and most successful clubs in Kenya in terms of trophies won.

Leopards formed four years earlier than Gor in 1964, boast a superior head to head record with 27 wins compared to K’Ogalo’s 24, with the rest 30 ties recording draws.

Ingwe have also scored the highest number of goals with 72, one batter than Gor.
