AFC Leopards signs a two year shirt sponsorship deal with SportPesa, Gor Mahia taking their time.

OFFICIAL: Kenyan Premier League giants AFC Leopards have signed a two year contract with sports betting company SportPesa as the official shirt sponsor.

The deal is worth Kshs 60M spread over two years – this was confirmed by ” Ingwe ” Assistant Secretary General Suleiman Angulu.

The unvailing of the landmark partnership will take place soon.

In another related news, bitter rivals Gor Mahia are taking their time, and are not in a rush to ink any deal, unless it offers the best terms.

Soka25east.com has reliably established that SportPesa and another betting company Betway have both tabled offers to K’Ogalo.

SportPesa was offering a similar deal to the AFC Leopards one, but K’Ogalo turned it down, prompting them to propose a two year deal worth Kshs 65M per year.

This will be discussed further when SportPesa holds their next meeting on February 8.

Betway is offering a three year contract worth Kshs 30M per year, and includes team kitting and supply of replica jerseys for fans.

Gor Mahia is reported to be pushing for an offer which will see the least earning player take home a minimum of Kshs 80,000 payed directly to their accounts.
