The new 2017 Kenyan Premier League season to kick-off 5 March 2017, Soka25east.com can exclusively reveal.

The season’s curtain raiser the DSTV Super Cup between the champions Tusker and Gor Mahia will be played 25 February 2017.

Sports Tribunal last week ruled the Kenyan topflight should resume within two weeks, however, the official broadcaster (Supersport) insisted the first round of fixtures must involve Tusker.

And since the Brewers will be engaged in the CAF Champions League within the period, the push back decision was arrived at.

The league will kick-start with 16 teams, pending the fate of four teams (Muhoroni Youth, KCB, Vihiga United and Sofapaka) at the Sports Tribunal.
