Kenyan Premier League former champions AFC Leopards have hit the transfer window with a bang – signing two foreign players Friday as they seek to bolster their squad ahead of 2018 season.

In the meantime, newbies Vihiga United have lost the services of coach Edward Manoah, who helped them gain promotion to the Kenya’s topflight next year.

Leopards or Ingwe have today announced the signing on Ghanaian striker Prince Papa Arkoh on a one-year-deal.

“AFC Leopards is proud to announce the acquisition of Prince Papa Arkoh formerly of Sekondi Hasaacas of Ghana on a one year contract,” the 12 times KPL champions posted on Facebook.

Prince, 25, was a free agent after seeing off his contract with Berekum Chelsea in the Ghana Premier League.

The Kenya Cup holders have also announced the signing of Nigerian holding midfielder Henry Uche Ifeanyi on a one-year-deal from Shooting Stars Sports Club in the country’s topflight.

The two are expected to play important roles in their upcoming campaign in the CAF Confederations Cup, where they will meet Madagascar’s Fosa Juniors at the preliminary round next year.

Vihiga United

In the other news, Edward Manoah has resigned as the coach of KPL new entrants Vihiga United citing unclear future.

Manoah’s journey with the Vihiga County owned outfit started in the fourth division till this year when they gained promotion to the KPL after winning the National Super League.

But the experienced manager is not happy that the management “doesn’t seem committed” to renew his contract that expires next year April.

“I have resigned because the County Government doesn’t seem committed to renew my contract and from a professional point of view, I cannot plan for 2018 season when my own future in the team is in doubt.”

Gor Mahia

KPL champions Gor Mahia have signed Kakamega Homeboyz defender Charles Momanyi.

“The offer from Gor Mahia was too good for the player to turn down and as Homeboyz we have already released him so that he can complete the transfer.

“At Homeboyz, we don’t stop players from leaving if they believe they are with the offer on the table,” Homeboyz president Cleophas Shimanyula told Goal Kenya.

Gor will take part in the next year’s edition of the African Champions League as Kenya’s representatives.
