Kariobangi Sharks edged fellow newbies Nakumatt FC 1-0 to register season’s second win in the Kenyan Premier League at the Thika Stadium on Easter Monday.

2008 champions Mathare United on the other hand were handed second loss by Posta Rangers, who downed them by a similar margin at the same venue.

Masud Juma netted the lone goal for Sharks in the 70th minute to ensure they climb to 10th in the table standings with 6 points from 5 outings, while Nakumatt are 16th with 4 points after a similar number of games.

Posta maintained their spotless run with a 1-0 win over Mathare United to climb to second on the log with 11 points – one point off leaders and 15-times champions Gor Mahia.

Veteran forward Dennis Mukaisi scored the decider in the 22nd minute.

The loss was Mathare’s second of the season having previously gone down 2-0 to 2009 champions Sofapaka SC.

They are 13th in the standings with five points from five matches.
