Gor Mahia became the first Kenyan Premier League side to reach forty points mark this season after beating Muhuroni Youth 2-1 at Moi Stadium Kisumu Saturday.

In a match they largely bossed, the record Kenyan champions went ahead through Timothy Otieno, who tapped in from Jacques Tuyisenge cross from the left in the 22nd minute.

Timothy grabbed a brace five minutes later from a one one situation.

However, after series of missed chances, Muhoroni managed to get back into the match and in the 86th minute Robert Odenyu to pull one back against a run of play.

It was nonetheless late in the day.

The three points cement K’Ogalo’s lead at the helm of the table standings seven points clear of second placed Sofapaka after 19 matches.
