Burundian striker Laudit Mavugo has returned to his former side AS Kigali in the Rwandan Premier League from Tanzania’s topflight side Simba SC on a two-year deal.

Mavugo, 23, leaves the Dar es Salaam heavyweights less than a year into his two-year contract.

His arrival from Vital’O in Burundi in August last year elicited a lot of excitements from the adoring Simba fans.

However, his stay did not live up-to the hype as he failed to bag in the goals as was expected.

The club for the umpteenth time lived in the shadows of their arch rivals Yanga SC, who piped them to the 2016/17 Tanzanian Premier League title.

Nonetheless, they managed to appease their supporters by lifting the Tanzanian Cup – securing themselves continental football next year.
