Much sought after Burundian international Laudit Mavugo will not join Simba SC of Tanzania any soon, the prolific scorer is in France for trials with League 2 outfit Tours FC.

Mavugo left for the European football powerhouse on Saturday 16 as confirmed by Vital’O President Benjamin Bikorimana.

“It is true Mavugo is in France.” Bikorimana disclosed without giving the nitty gritty of the trip.

Simba had previously laid claim to the mercurial goal poacher after allegedly signing him last season and paying part of the transaction money, with the player failing to turned up at Jangwani Street, something Bikorimana does not deny.

“Simba owes Vital’O a lot of money. They have not even finished paying for Amissi Tambwe.” Bikorimana responded.

Mavugo banged in over sixty goals in the past two seasons he has stayed at the Bujumbura big boys, guiding them to back to back league titles including league cup final in 2016.

The 23-year old’s chequered career has seen him grace the Rwandan Premier league with AS Kigali, Kiyovu and Police FC with some level of success.

Tours FC is based in Indre-et-Loire department capital Tours and is manged by Marco Simone; they play home matches at Stade de la Villea du Cher in the city.
