AFC Leopards Belgian tactician Ivan Minnaert has scooped the Fidelity Insurance sponsored Sports Journalists Association of Kenya (SJAK) Coach of the month award for March.
Ivan who joined the 13-time champions in February this year ward off stiff competition from Tusker’s Paul Nkata and Ulinzi’s Robert Matano for the coveted award – which comes with Kshs 50, 000 and a glittering gong.
He becomes the second Coach to receive the award after the inaugural winner Francis Kimanzi of Mathare United.
In the month of March, Ivan guided Ingwe to the top of the league after picking ten points from a possible 12 from 4 matches – including a 1-0 win over eternal rivals Gor Mahia in the “Mashemeji Derby”
And on the other hand, Matano led Ulinzi to picking six out of a possible 12 points from three draws and one win while Nkata led Tusker to a seven out of nine points haul from two wins and a draw.
Leopards are currently joint top of the Sportpesa Premier League with 17 points same as Tusker and Mathare United.
