Lierse SK have reached agreement with Chinese second division side Beijing Renhe Football Club for the sale of Kenyan sensational winger Ayub Timbe.

According to Lierse, Timbe, who mid last year inked a permanent deal with them after a year-long loan deal from Racing Genk, caught the eyes of the Chinese club, who offered irresistible financial reward.

“Liearse is aware that the timing for the transfer is not ideal, but the offer from the Chinese club meant a serious added value and is also important for the financial stability of the club. It is also a great opportunity for the player that the club does not want to deprive him,” the club explained their decision.

Timbe becomes the second Kenyan player to cross over to the lucrative China market after striker Michael Olunga, who joined Guizhou Zhicheng in the topflight in January from Swedish side Djurgadens IF.
