Zambia U20 National team striker Conlyde Luchanga has targeted the World Cup Golden boot as one of his goals, that he wants to achieve at this years world cup. The 19 year old striker is also keen on helping Junior Chipolopolo become the second African nation to lift the prestigious trophy.

” First of all, I just want to thank my God for his mercies upon my life. My target at the world obviously is to help my country reach the finals and above all to became the top scorer of the tournament by God’s grace,” he said

The Lusaka Dynamos striker is confident the team can go all the way and lift the trophy. The 2015 Zambia super league young player of the year believes the team is putting in the much needed hard work.

” I believe in the boys, We really working hard i feel will go as far as finals and maybe even lift it,” Luchanga said in an exclusive interview with soka25east.com

Luchanga came to promise back in 2015 when he was scoring goals for fun with Lusakaa Dynamos and caught the eye of the national team coach by then George Lwandamina, who gave him his first senior national team cap against Mozambique. The boy nicknamed Golden boy scored a wonderful header on his Senior national team debut aged just 17.

With Patson Daka, Fashion Sakala and Edward Chilufya firing from all cylinders Luchanga found it difficult to make the starting line-up at the 2016 U20 Africa Cup of Nations tournament. He started the first match against Guinea but could not stamp his authority on the match and was substituted in the first half.

This is something that Luchanga is eager to put behind him and move forward after rediscovering his form. The youngster has scored two goals in the teams last two friendlies .

” I thank God am getting back to my former self now, while talking about the first line up it depends on how you perform and prove yourself to the coaches and the rest will follow. With that siad i have faith i will be in the starting line up,” Luchanga said.

His goal in Monday’s 4 nil friendly win over Las Palmas means he has scored 3 goals in his last three games for the Zambia U20 National team and might be giving Coach Chambeshi team selection headaches ahead of the world cup.
