Ethiopia’s women’s national team “Lucy” left for Jinja, Uganda from Addis this morning for the second edition of the CECAFA Women’s Championship starting Sunday 11.

Head Coach Meseret Manne named a squad of 20 from the 30 she has had in camp since August 23 in Dire Dawa City.

The Iron lady spelled out her target for the tournament saying she’s only after the ladies playing good entertaining football.

Dedebit FC’s prolific striker and the reigning Ethiopian Women’s Premier League’s most valuable player Loza Abera is part of the entourage, and so is her teammate and midfielder Birtukan Gebrekirstos who will lead the team as the captain.
