Malawi-Big Bullets,Civo United among top clubs suspended by FAM

Just after signing a lucrative sponsorship deal worth K500 Million with Malawi’s sole Cigarette manufacturing company Nyasa ,Malawi’s Super league defending champions Big Bullets suffered a blow when the FA threw them out of the Super League together with Standard Bank Cup 2015 winners Civo United.

This is after the clubs did not comply with the directive to have all teams get licensed ahead of the league.

Other teams suspended include Azam Tigers,Kamuzu Barracks,Moyale Barracks,Mzuzu University,Blue Eagles,MAFCO,EPAC.

They have been suspended from all football related activities.

Club licensing manager Casper Jangale said aid the suspended teams have up to 14th February to submit their documents as failing which the documents shall not be received beyond that and it shall lead to sanctions and most severe one will be no participation in 2016 football season

He said FAM had twice warned the clubs on the consequences of their failure to follow the road map

he said he wondered newly promoted clubs like Dwangwa United could get their house properly and big clubs like Nyasa Bullets could not follow suit.

In a quick rejoinder, Nyasa Bullets Chairman Sam Chilunga said they were still finalizing with their sponsorship deal “We had to finalise the sponsorship deal with Nyasa Manufacturing Company before turning to the club licensing issue,”
