Malawi: Chiukepo Msowoya does a double as TNM awards outstanding performances

Comesa Hall in the commercial city of Blantyre was tonight packed to capacity as the country’s elite league sponsors Telecom Networks Malawi (TNM) honored outstanding performances for the just ended 2015 season.

 

The climax of the occasion was when Chiukepo Msowoya ,Big Bullets hitman and joint top goal scorer with Innocent Bokosi of Red Lions FC  was named Player of the season.

 

He walked  home with K300,000 for his pains. The list of accolades saw Big Bullets , successful defenders of the league they grabbed in 2014, dominating in many areas.

 

Following is a complete list of honors in different categories. Longest serving players in the league had Fisher Kondowe, James Chilapondwa (both of Big Bullets) and Jacob Ngwira (BeFoward Wanderers).

 

Stanley Sanudi (Wanderers) was named the most improved player of the season. Best goalkeeper accolade went to James Soko of Blue Eagles.

 

Best defender of the season was Yamikani Fodya (Bullets) and best mid fielder was Nelson Kangunje of Civo Service United. Best Technical Panel was that of Blue Eagles FC ,best improved teams being Mafco FC and BeFoward Wanderers.

 

The best managed team was Big Bullets FC and Civo Service United scooped the Fair play team of the season accolade. The most displined supporters honor was confered on Big Bullets FC. In the individual media category Frank Kandu of Radio 2 fm, Mike Bango of Zodiak Broadcasting Station and Mwakhale Kaliyande of MIG radio were chosen as the best,second best and third best radio presenters of the season.

 

In the print media , Peter Kanjere and Mphatso Malidadi (both of Times )were chosen s the best and second best respectively.

 

Jerome Kadewere and Archangel Tembo both of Nyasa Times were awarded the online best and second best reporters of the season.

 

Commentator of the season was Patrick Simango of Radio One FM, seconded by Williams Gondwa of Times Radio. Best TV presenter was Peter Forte of joy TV and second best was Pilirani Kachinziri of Times TV.

 

Best photo journalist was Bobby Kabango and the best columnist award went to Joy Ndovie and Garry Chirwa.
