Ice cream makers Azam FC last evening retained the annual Mapinduzi cup after beating Uganda’s URA 4-3 in penalties after the two teams drew 0-0

URA’s Brian Majwega missed his last kick when the teams were tied 3-3 but Alionzi Nafian scored the decisive penalty that earned the Tanzanian money bags the second title in a row

Both keepers were impressive in the penalties but the Ghanian keeper Razak Abalora donning the Azam colours saved two crucial penalties .

Azam now lifts the cup a record four times 2012,2013 ,2017 and now 2018 Simba has lifted it 3 times

Singida United’s Shafique Batambuze was named the player of the tournament

A total of 11 teams participated in the tournament with the guest of honour being the Zanzibar President Dr Ali Shein
