Mapunda out of favour with Logarusic at Simba

Simba’s coach Zradvko Logarusic has has given keeper Ivo Mapunda leave of Absence so as to recollect his thoughts before returning to the team.

The former Gor Mahia coach reached the decision after school boy blunders by the former Gor Mahia keeper led to a 1-1 draw against Mtibwa Sugar and a bitter 1-0 loss to lowly Mgambo Shooting.

This have not been looking rosy for the flamboyant Mapunda who recently followed the tactician from Kenyan club Gor Mahia.Mapunda who was the first choice keeper at Simba in the Tanzanian league lost his place after the blunders and was benched against Mbeya City.

“I dont think the decision was wrong because when he was in Kenya he was a regular and you saw his perfomance in the Cecafa senior challenge cup where he was in almost all the matches.I think it was important to let him rest as i feel he is tired and needs some time off so that he can recuperate and come back when he is at his best”Logarusic told Soka25east.com

Efforts to reach Mapunda were fruitless has his phone when answered .
