The Egyptian Football Assosiation announced the start of the Egyptian Elit referees training camp to be led by former Swiss referee Massimo Busacca.

Busacca refereed three games in the 2006 World Cup in Germany including the quarter-final match between Mexico and Argentina, in addition to one match in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa before retiring in 2011.

“I am in favor of using the video assistance referee instead of a fifth referee since the later will cost us a lot more,” Abou-Rida explained.

The 48-year-old referee will be instructing Egyptian referees on how to use the video assistance technology to help them use it later in the Egyptian Premier League.

Busacca will be giving technical lectures during the camp which will last upto 30th, March.
