Mighty Gor Mahia closer to retaining the Kenyan Premier league title

Gor Mahia moved a step closer to retaining the SportPesa Premier League title after edging Sofapaka 2-0 at the Moi Stadium in Kisumu on Sunday 12th May. Zoo FC and Kakamega Homeboyz also registered wins. 

Gor Mahia 2-0 Sofapaka

After a goalless first half, Samuel Onyango and Jacques Tuyisenge scored in the 56th and 76th minute to ensure K’Ogalo grab the maximum points and open a ten-point gap at the top.

Gor is now at the helm with 66 points from 29 matches while Sofapaka is second with 56 points having played 30 matches.

Tusker FC 1-1 Nzoia Sugar FC 

Tusker FC came from a goal down to share spoils with Nzoia Sugar FC at the Ruaraka Stadium. Jackson Dwang had given the visitors the lead in the 51st minute but a stoppage-time equalizer by Amini Muzerwa rescued the Brewers from defeat.

Zoo FC 2-1 Ulinzi Stars 

Zoo FC eased their relegation fears with a well deserved 2-1 win over Ulinzi Stars at the Green Stadium in Kericho. Danson Chetambe and Ernest Kipkoech gave Zoo a 2-0 lead going into the breather but Ulinzi got a consolation few minutes to stoppage time through Enosh Ochieng.

Kakamega Homeboyz 2-0 Western Stima

An Allan Wanga penalty and Maxwell Ravel goal ensured Kakamega Homeboyz edge Western Stima 2-0 at the Bukhungu Stadium in Kakamega.

Mathare United 2-0 Mt Kenya United (Walkover)

Mathare United picked three easy points as their opponents Mt Kenya United failed to show up at the Moi International Sports Center in Kasarani.

S0ny Sugar FC 0-0 AFC Leopards

Sony Sugar FC and AFC Leopards played to a barren draw in a rescheduled match played at the Green Stadium in Awendo, Migori.

Posta Rangers 1-1 Vihiga United 

Francis Nambute gave the hosts an early lead in the 7th minute but Alex Imbusia levelled matters 4 minutes after the restart to ensure a share the two teams share spoils.
