The Egyptian ace’s shoulder was a matter of national concern ahead of their World Cup return against Uruguay.

At long last, the mystery surrounding Mohamed Salah’s fitness levels has been sorted out.

Speaking prior to Egypt’s return to the World Cup, coach Héctor Cúper revealed that Liverpool’s striker has been cleared to play against Uruguay, and only an unfortunate incident could prevent him from playing tomorrow at Ekaterimbourg Stadium.

“I can almost assure you 100% he will play, save unforeseen circumstances at the very last minute. He could become the top goalscorer here and one of the greatest players,” Cúper stated.

The former Valencia manager admitted that Salah’s recovery period surprised everyone, since it took him less time than initially expected to recover from the shoulder injury he picked up during the UEFA Champions League final.

Now, Egypt’s medical staff will have one more duty before tomorrow’s game, according to Cúper.

“We’re trying to make him feel confident. The doctors are giving him the option to play or not, but I know Salah very well and I’m sure he’s not afraid, he’s not fearful,” the coach added.

Egypt’s boss will have a full squad to choose from, since defender Ali Gabr also managed to recover from a knock during the team’s training sessions this week.
