Former Malian international Mohammed Lamine Sissoko has revealed that he is thinking of towing the path of Liberia’s George Weah by dabbling into his country’s political foray.

In an interview with Bamako based portal Xalima, Sissoko said he is ready to turn to politics after hanging up his boots with an eye on becoming the president of Mali.

Like many other players the Sissoko wants to follow in the footsteps of former AC Milan star George Weah, who was appointed the president of Liberia this year.

“I’m preparing for it…I know it will be complicated, but we must dream in life.It must also be given the means to succeed, “he explained to Xalima.com as translated from French.

However, before that Sissoko wants to stay more in the game so as to improve the standard of football in his country.

“I’ve always been in football since I was young, so my real goal is to give to the young people all my experiences, all the beautiful things that I have known through football. Malian, ” he concluded.

The 33-year-old who gained popularity among Malians during his stay at Liverpool was capped 34 times with Mali, scoring 2 goals in the process.
