Munthali ”Saga” Takes New Twist

The saga surrounding Chipolopolo Defender Christopher Munthali has taken a new twist as the Zambia Daily Mail Today reports that Munthali has quit Arthur Davies for Nkana Stadium.

According to a article written by Diana Mutakafimbo ,Chris Munthali has Handed in a ”Resignation Letter” and asked to join 12 times ZSL Champions Nkana Football Club.

Munthali has However denied being on Nkana payroll for the past two Months and says this is the first time he will be joining Nkana since is loan spell in 2013.

This contrary to what the same newspaper had reported yesterday. The paper quoted Nkana vice Chairman Patrick Njovu as saying that the player had been on Nkana’s payroll since his alleged Move to Nkana in December.

Munthali has been caught in between a transfer saga involving Power Dynamos and Nkana. Nkana claimed to have signed Munthali from Power Dynamos on 3 year deal which Power dynamos said was a breach in Contract terms as Munthali had a running Contract with the Ndeke based Giants stretching up to 31st December 2016.

Nkana However countered by saying the Contract Munthali took to them showed that it had expired on 31st December 2015.

Power Have even taken the matter to Football House and the Transfer and Player Status Committee is scheduled to sit and deliberate on this matter and give its verdict.

Its not clear as to who is fooling who cause the first story that emerged was munthali having signed for Nkana as a free agent .When he returned from CHAN he went back to training with Power Dynamos and now he hands in a transfer request, which should not be necessary if he was a free agent.

The transfer and Player Status Committee chaired by Lombe Mbalashi will today sit to pass its Verdict on this matter ,so until then Munthali’s Club remains a mystery.
