Some things i learnt from underwhelming Kabwe Warriors ‘s shock 2-1 defeat by New Monze Swallows

Kabwe Warriors will be disappointed with their performance in the last two games were they have now dropped five out of the six points. They wouldn’t want to get in the pressure mode as that is enough to disrupt their excellent work we have seen recently under Tenant Chilumba.

But that won’t be the worries of New Monze Swallows who ended their barren form at home this season with a massive win against a team that has been excellent so far with serious ambitions of the league title.

New Monze Swallows took the lead and Kabwe Warriors fought back to equalised but Swallows were determined to beat Kabwe Warriors and that Ray Mutale goal to make it 2-1 at Lweengu Sports complex , easing their relegation fears will be the key moment of the Monze Outfit this season.

But here are my views of thoughts with this Swallows team.

Reinvesting in Players

New Monze Swallows need to reinvest in that squad … fast.

It took months to get their first win at home and truth be said if this team is to survive, Home form will be crucial henceforth and the team needs goals especially at home. This has been the biggest weakness so far.

Swallow’s front line simply doesn’t cut it
Truth be said, Swallows ’s front-line simply does not look as intimidating as it should be especially at home . They shouldnt sale their best players now but surely some additions are key and one area that needs reinforcement is upfront.

Avoiding dropping Points at home

With KYSA and Napsa Stars both in good form and with Nchanga Rangers four-points ahead, New Monze Swallows face a fight on their hands if they want to maintain the Super League status. They shouldn’t drop points against teams in the bottom half of the table.

Without a doubt the form of the Monze outfit has picked up in recent weeks and the players have been particularly influential over the last one month , weighing in with two crucuial wins in the last five games and even though they still occupy the last slot, they will be happy they have the same points with the bottom three.

With National Assembly and Nakambala Leopards further six points away, the dream shouldn’t die so early but the Nchete boys have something to hold on to and fight for dear life.

Killing Off poor Stats

The first home win of the season also saw the team put to bed an unfortunate statistic. Prior to this win, Swallows had only scored one goal at home and a win looked far fetched and the fans will hope this goal gives the team confidence to continue improving at home.

New Monze Swallows must use this result as a springboard

With Kabwe Warriors scoring to equalise late on in the match, New Monze Swallows were on 6 points on the table, two points below Napsa and KYSA respectively. But now they find themselves sitting bottom, yes but equal on points with KYSA and Napsa though the pensioners are not yet done with week 15. It’s a big relief.

Throwing themselves among the teams to survive

The bottom half of the Super League table is extraordinarily congested and, as the likes of Lumwana Radiants, Green Eagles and National Assembly have shown, any team able to put together an encouraging run will find themselves rapidly pulling away from danger. That’s one thing Swallows should throw themselves into.

Winnable Fixtures coming up

New Monze Swallows should now believe that they have plenty of winnable fixtures on the horizon, with games against KYSA, Nakambala Leopards and Red Arrows visiting in that order . If they can maintain the momentum they will have gained from this win and they can take a giant step towards safety.

It’s all possible
