Zambian Super Division giants Nkana have decided against renewing Congolese goalkeeper Scott Ngokene’s contract which expired last December.

Ngokene who joined Nkana from Napsa Stars in 2015 endured a mixed season last year characterised by school boy mistakes that proved costly in Kalampa’s quest for honours.

His butterfingers cost Nkana a place in the final of the only cup competition in the country, the Barclays Cup after he allowed four goals against Zanaco in a semi-final at Arthur Davis Stadium last October.

Club secretary Kenny Mwansa confirmed in an exclusive interview recently that the club is not looking at renewing Ngokene’s contract at the moment.

Mwansa said the Aggrey Chiyangi drilled side has since started hunting for another goal minder to supplement the available Kelvin Malunga and Frederick Mwansa.

Ngokene who recently indicated that he would love to extend his stay at Nkana Stadium will have to look elsewhere if he is to play in the Super Division this year.

He is believed to be on the radar of a host of clubs including newly promoted Buildcon FC and his former club Napsa Stars among others.
