Mali U-17 coach Jonas Kokuo Kamla has urged his charges not to be complacent as they take on fellow West Africans Ghana, in the U-17 world cup quarterfinal clash at the Indira Gandhi Athletic Stadium in Guwahati India.

The 42-year-old tactician who has led Mali to 2 victories against the Black Starlets at the U-17 AFCON finals and in a friendly match in Abu Dhabi has downplayed the favorites tag and called on his boys to be cautious.

“We are not taking Ghana lightly, they have reached this level not accidentally but with their effort, It is going to be a good match.”

Kamla downplayed bad weather to have a major effect on their type of play insisting that his side has so far adapted so well to the rains experienced in two of their 2 matches.

“We are very much used to the rain. In fact, we played two matches where it was raining. We know how to adapt; the rain should not spoil the match.”

The winner will be Africa’s last remaining representative at the global showpiece.
